Paul Smith Polka Dot Leather Clutch

‘Polka dots checks and stripes’ is a children’s song that I specifically remember watching on TV when I was young. Someone else please tell me that you too have heard this song!
At the time I did not realize that polka dots were sometimes a very big fashion hit or miss. For this fall, they are a fashion do, that is if you do it right. An easy way to pull off polka dots is with a cute clutch. The Brit fashion designer Paul Smith has been around since 1970 with his unique designs and funky swirl pattern. To take on the polka dot pattern and add a personal flair, Paul Smith released the Paul Smith Polka Dot Leather Clutch.
Black background gives way to the off-white polka dots on this frame top clutch. There is also a leather strap with buckle detail on the front and an interior pocket. Paul made this clutch sassy and perfect to be handheld, measuring 10.5″ x 5.5″ x 1.5″. For an affordable fall clutch will all the style needed, buy this via eLuxury for $540.
Sir Paul Smith becomes Patron of EM Media

Sir Paul Smith, one of the UK’s biggest names in fashion and popular culture, is announced as the first patron of EM Media.
EM Media, based in Sir Paul’s home town of Nottingham, was set up in 2002 with a vision to make the East Midlands the most creative and progressive filmmaking and digital content producing region in the UK.
The agency supports, develops and invests in creative talent from the East Midlands and since 2002 has made 600 investments totalling £11m in the film and digital content sector. This £11m includes the ground-breaking EMMI (East Midlands Media Investments) Fund which saw EM Media investing £6m of European Regional Development Fund finance (ERDF), generating a total estimated economic benefit of over £70m to the East Midlands. EM Media has had considerable success, making its name through investments in a host of award-winning British films. The agency’s portfolio includes Shane Meadows’ BAFTA winner This Is England, actress Samantha Morton’s directorial debut The Unloved and Anton Corbijn’s award-winning Control, the acclaimed biopic of Joy Division’s troubled front man Ian Curtis.
Sir Paul Smith is Guest of Honour 2010

Paul Smith is best known as a fashion designer, but he has also designed furniture and upholstery textiles. In 2002, he collaborated with Cappellini to create the Mondo collection and in 2003 he launched ‘Bespoke’ an upholstery textile for Maharam. He also designs a collection of rugs for The Rug Company.
Paul Smith’s boutiques have always been an important aspect of his work. They reflect his character and design, an unmistakable Britishness augmented by the unexpected. In addition to Paul Smith’s collections, the boutiques contain a wide selection of jewellery, books, art and antiques. In the window displays, you are just as likely to see Apple’s new computer and the latest video games, as you are to see Paul Smith’s clothes.
“We want to highlight the crossover between various design genres; fashion, interior design and furniture, and the fact that the world of interior design clearly finds inspiration in the world of fashion today. We also want to draw attention to the significance of the carefully thought-out profile that Paul Smith displays in his boutiques. With this in mind, he feels like an inspiring and interesting choice,” says Cecilia Nyberg, Event Manager, Stockholm Furniture Fair and Northern Light Fair.
